Bei der fachübergreifend besetzten Veranstaltung diskutierten Professoren und Doktoren der Zahnmedizin, Chemie und Biologie über aktuelle Forschungsarbeiten und Produktentwicklungen. In regelmäßigen Symposien stellen sie hier die neusten Ergebnisse des Forschungsnetzwerks vor und diskutieren aktuelle Fragestellungen: Im Fokus steht die zielgerichtete Weiter- und Neuentwicklung von Produkten mit Hydroxylapatit. „Hydroxylapatit ist ein zahnverwandter Wirkstoff, der großes Potential bietet, das von der Forschung bei weitem noch nicht ausgeschöpft ist“, so Dr. Joachim Enax, Scientific Expert Research Oral Care.
Mit dem Ziel, die Forschung voranzutreiben und den interdisziplinären Austausch zu fördern, unterhält Dr. Wolff ein breites Forschungsnetzwerk. Dies unterstreicht das große Engagement im Bereich der anwendungsbezogenen Grundlagenforschung. Dazu zählen u.a. Kooperationen mit renommierten Universitätskliniken, sowie dem Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung (AG Biologische Verbundwerkstoffe).
In den vergangenen Jahren haben zahlreiche neue Studien die Wirksamkeit von Zahnpflegeprodukten mit Hydroxylapatit in Bezug auf Parodontitis-Prophylaxe [1, 2], Schutz vor Schmerzempfindlichkeit [3, 4] und Kariesschutz [5] gezeigt. Dr. Wolff setzt den innovativen Wirkstoff Hydroxylapatit in den Zahnpflegeserien Biorepair und der im März gelaunchten Marke Karex ein.
